Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem Prayer Shawl (Tallit) w/Blue Tzitzit
The prayer on the collar says in English and in Hebrew: “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.”
The Word says in Psalm that those who pray for Jerusalem will prosper and be blessed.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee.”Psalm 122:8
The Messenger says it like this: “Pray for Jerusalem’s peace!Prosperity to all you Jerusalem-lovers!”
The prayer shawl is a great reminder to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
“Hebraic Roots” prayer shawl has embroidered on each corner the city of Jerusalem and a blue painted Tekhelet (tzitzit) (blue thread).
The Tallit is the fulfillment of God’s instructions to the Israelites, that they attach fringe (tzitziyot) to the four corners of their garment. The Jewish people created a special Tallit so they could fulfill God’s commandment, a shawl that is worn during times of prayer.White is the preferred color for the Tallit because Scriptures says that God himself is clothed in a garment of light.(Ps 104:2)
The Blue thread on the corners of a Jewish prayer shawl (tallits) is to remind the Jews of God’s commandments.
Numbers 15:37-41
37. And the LORD said to Moses, 38. "Say to the people of Israel: 'Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing and attach the tassels at each corner with a blue cord. 39. The tassels will remind you of the commands of the LORD, and that you are to obey his commands instead of following your own desires and going your own ways, as you are prone to do. 40. The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God. 41. I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God. I am the LORD your God!” (NLT)
